ZION EVANGELICAL
UNITED CHURCH
Our Mission Statement: "To be a welcoming, Christ-centered community, empowered to share God's love and to make disciples for Jesus Christ through worship, fellowship, teaching, prayer, and acts of caring.”

MEET OUR PASTOR
Rev. Dr. Mandara Zacharia
Pastor Mandara is a native of Tanzania, Africa who accepted Christ at the tender age of twelve. He is a humble and gifted servant of God whose ultimate desire is to do God's will. With over 26 years of experience in the gospel, Pastor Mandara's desire is for his church to be within the community, proclaiming the Word of Christ and providing good deeds whenever possible.
Pastor Mandara loves God, God's people, and His Word. He enjoys family time, relaxing, reading, and learning whatever he can to share with others. He preaches and teaches the Word of God with power, conviction, and simplicity at every opportunity that avails without compromise.
Pastor Mandara loves the young, the elderly, and unchurched people groups. He believes that the young have so much to gain, the elderly have so much to share, and the unchurched because their eternal destiny is at hand. His ministry calling and the existence for God's Amazing Grace Christian Ministries lies somewhere in between all of that. His watchword for anyone is to get to know God first for yourself and trust Him above all else. For God told the Prophet Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you, and I ordained you a Prophet to the nations"
(Jer 1:5; 29:11).

PASTORAL CARE
"Suffering and illness have always been among the greatest problems that trouble the human spirit. Christians feel and experience pain as do all other people; yet their faith helps them to grasp more deeply the mystery of suffering and to bear their pain with greater courage. From Christ's words, they know that sickness has meaning and value for their own salvation and for the salvation of the world They also know that Christ, who during his life often visited and healed the sick, loves them in their illness.
Those who are seriously ill need special help of God's grace in this time of anxiety, lest they be broken in spirit and, under the pressure of temptation, perhaps weakened in their faith. This is why, through the sacrament of anointing, Christ strengthens the faithful who are afflicted by illness, providing them with the strongest means of support. It's our church, Zion Evangelical, through its ministry of pastoral care, to do this anytime, any day of the year. So please, if you need pastoral care of any kind, let us know.
